Dr. Green

You know me and my greens.
It’s funny how only a couple years ago I had to be forced to drink a smoothie. There was a time in my life where I despised to eat anything but grilled cheese sandwiches!

Oh, how things change.

Now I drink on average 2 large smoothies a day and I can’t wait until the next day when I get to have more! I get excitedΒ when I see green food. Green drinks, green bars, green cakes…it’s a green world after all.

This smoothie is really your basic green smoothie. Bananas, kale…you know the deal. But what makes this particular one so unique is the added pineapple and ginger! It takes the flavour to a whole new level.

We all know that ginger is an efficient antioxidant, but it can also freshen breath, induce cell death in cancerous cells, increase healthy sweating and relieve headaches and migraines!

There’s a reason why I call this the Dr. Green. πŸ˜‰

-2 cups kale

-3 frozen bananas

-1 cup chopped pineapple

-1 scoop vegan vanilla protein powder (I recommend Vega’s)

-1/4 inch fresh ginger

-2 cups liquid (I use 1/2 hemp milk 1/2 water)


Add all ingredients to a high speed blender and blend on high until smooth and creamy.
