Lucky Shamrock Shake

When you search ‘scary’ on google the creepy guy is the first thing to come up!

In my opinion the McDonalds Shamrock shakes are MUCH scarier. I mean just look at those ingredients! I don’t know about you but I have never had one of these shakes nor do I intend to.

That’s why I created my own healthy version! Since St. Patricks day is coming up, what better way to celebrate than with something green? Green all day every day! This green colour doesn’t come from artificial colouring though, it’s the real deal, as it should be.


Serves 1 

v, gf, refined sugar-free, low fat, raw


-3 frozen ripe bananas

-2 cups of greens (I use kale but you can use spinach if you don’t want the bitter taste)

-1/4 tsp. pure peppermint extract

-1 scoop plant based chocolate protein powder or 2 tbsp. cacao powder

-2 cups liquid of choice (I use 1/2 raw almond milk and 1/2 water, feel free to mix it up)


Put all ingredients in a high speed blender such as a Vitamix or Magic Bullet. Blend on low and gradually increase to high until all smooth and creamy. Add more or less liquid as needed.

This smoothie really is like a milkshake, you will be dazzled! If you want to make it more traditional you could always top it with some coconut milk whipped cream and a fresh cherry for a festive treat.
